What Causes Pain And Burning Sensation Above The Waistline?
About 3 weeks ago after a flare of diverticulitis I ve had a very sore irritated area of skin right hand side just above waistline. It is a constant burning sensation with sometimes a stabbing pain. I m conscious of this pain all the time because if the discomfort. I hop you may be able to throw some light on it. Many thanks. Regards Geraldine.

Hi,
The stabbing pain warrants further investigation in your case. If only burning pain was present then it can be acid reflux and for that antacid can be prescribed.
But as stabbing pain is present ultrasonography has to be done to rule out appendicitis, diverticulitis or kidney infection like causes.
