What Causes Pain And Burning Sensation In The Belly Button?

I had a hysterectomy six months ago. I had laproscopic surgery having my ovaries also removed. My recovery went very well. However, in the last few weeks I started yoga and zumba classes. Since then I have noticed pain/burning sensation to the right of my belly button. I had this type of pain after the surgery as that is where one of the incisions was at. Is this something to be concerned about?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* The pain and burning sensation in the belly button can be related to some sort of fibrosis or stretching inside the healed tissue of operated scar of laparoscopy surgery.

Usually, it resolves on its own taking care to avoid constipation and weight lifting, but if persists over a period of time, a consultation with your surgeon would be of immense benefit to look into the matter.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
