What Causes Pain And Burning Sensation In The Chest?

I ve had chest pain / burning and at times squeezing in left arm. When I start to fall asleep I jump up feeling like my heart has stopped or skipped beats. I wear a Fitbit and my pulse is low 50 s high 40 s when that happens. I had a CArdiac cath in 2015 and an echocardiogram in 2016. Both were fine. They were ordered after a stress test showed an abnormality later called a false positive by a cardiologist. Not sure if it is a heart issue or panic issue or something else.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be due to gastritis.

As of now you can try antacids like omeprazole or pantoprazole for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persists you can consult a cardiologist and get an ECG to rule out possible cardiac causes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
