What Causes Pain And Burning Sensation In The Muscles?

My sister is on Plavix, takes Nexium and Clariton. She has developed itching (skin is dry), muscle pain all over. and a burning feeling. She is also taking Vit. E, Vit. D, COQ10, Mag. 250 and occasionally B12. Are all these drugs causing her problems.

Claritin is an anti histamine that is used to treat allergies so it is not likely that any itching would be related to this particular medication.

Plavix can cause rash or itching in some persons, so it is possible that there may be a link.
It is not associated with the other symptoms, neither is nexium.

Burning and pain can be due to neuralgia which is nerve related pain. There are different possible causes such as: (1) vitamin b12 and folate deficiency- if she is taking the b12 because of a deficiency then this may be the cause

(2)liver and kidney disease
(3)diabetes
(4)exposure to toxins
(5)infection such as shingles
(6)neurological conditions such as stroke or ms
(7)thyroid disease

She may need to rule out these causes
