What Causes Pain And Burning Sensation On The Face?

I had the flu the other day and I had congestion in my chest and nose so I blew my nose real hard and felt that my left ear pop and started ringing and painful. Then my head started spinning and eventually fell in the tub and threw up and lost my balance and couldn t walk straight for an hour so I laid down for an hour and felt a little bit better. But my left ear is still aching and feels clogged up. The other day woke up with blisters and sores all around my mouth, face and neck. I wonder what is going on with me? My face is constantly burning and hurting a lot around the sores and blisters. I can t even wasdh my face without feeling any pain.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The pain and burning on the face indicate underlying inflammation of the area which may be of viral or bacterial origin.

An immediate visit to the ER is recommended for further management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
