What Causes Pain And Burning Sensation On The Tongue?
I am feeling as if the very back of my tongue has developed a growth. I have some burning and minor pain. I feel whatever it is as I swallow and have had issues with the feeling that there is mucus staying in that area. This isn't new but it is now more than what I originally thought of a allergies.
Pain and burning sensation of tongue at the very back with feeling of a lump and excess mucous are commonly seen when you have acid reflux. Other cause can be throat infection, sinusitis or post nasal drip.. So my suggestion is to first of all get evaluated for the exact cause of the problem. You should get treated for the underlying cause to relieve the symptoms.. In case of acid reflux you will be advised antacids and proton pump inhibitors like Omeprazole. If it is due to sinus or throat infection then antibiotics will be advised.. Excess mucous can be treated with mucolytics.. For now do warm saline gargles, gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lidocaine, you can use Magic mouthwash as it has multiple benefits.. You can also drink plenty of water and avoid spicy foods..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
