Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was shower and cleaning my rectal area when I felt a small ball like inside my anus. Because of its location inside I am unable to see but my wife says it looks black like a black head n white. I had a colonoscopy last month n still waiting on results. What are some things to look at? I had some pain n discomfort today and usual I have light red bleeding but I didn t check today.

Pathologist and Microbiologist, Dr. S. Samanta's Response
Hi, thanks for sharing your health concerns with HCM!
If I were your treating Doctor for this case of a small ball like inside my anus, I would come up with four possibilities, these include:
1. infected piles or hemorrhoids 2. rectal polyp or para-rectal cyst or abscess 3. infected sinus tract or inflamed anal fissure! 4. worms or amoebiasis or fungal infection
I would suggest you to go for a routine stool examination and microbiological/microscopic test before the colonoscopy report comes to relieve your concerns!
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
wishing you good health!
