Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Good afternoon! I am a 36 year old female, athlete my entire life, avid in waterskiing, golf, snow skiing (until I blew my ACL at 19), running, going to the gym etc. I have basically participated in every sport. The last few years I have had discomfort in my hips, the left has been the worst. The last 6 months its become severe to the extent that I am in constant pain and can t sleep. Any thoughts? I have no health insurance at this time so am looking for guidance before I get to the doctor...Im assuming an MRI is inevitable?
An MRI should be considered later, a bilateral hip xray should be the first test conducted along with a few physical maneuvers. You seem to have used your hip joint extensively and so there could be certain repurcussions which you are conclusively experiencing.
Best wishes.
