Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a colonoscopy earlier this month due to rectal bleeding. I am 68 years old with diabetes and high blood pressure. A history of anemia. Dr. Removed small Pre cancerous polyp. Had minor discomfort in right pelvic area next day. Since then, I have had little energy and pain in legs with minor discomfort in right pelvic area. I was told to discontinue taking iron tablets 5 days prior to procedure.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Since colonoscopy and excision of polyp was done before starting of right pelvic area pain, there is a mild possibility of leakage or inflammatory reaction. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Do not take anything orally. Go to ER for clinical evaluation, examination and investigations like X-ray of the abdomen in standing position to see for any gas under diaphragm, ultrasonography or CT scan of abdomen and tests of blood and stool, urine to see for the possible cause and thus get a plan for further management. Get a proper diagnosis as this is very important for proper plan of management.
