I have had discomfort by the base of my throat for years -- don t wear crew neck shirts. But it is getting worse and is constant now. I also am on medications which I think make me pretty nauseous. Have been to a GI Doctor (2 different ones -- the second within the last year ) but it has not been helpful - ever. I may go back again because it is getting worse but my experience so far is that it has been a waste of my time and money.
