What Causes Pain And Discomfort In Tibia After Surgery?

I had a compound fracture on my tibia in 2007 and had a rod and screws inserted. April 2015 I had surgery to remove the rod, due to pain. I was still having pain and discomfort,so doctor sent me for MRI. The MRI shows a non-displaced fracture in tibia He said should heal on its own. Do I need to wear my boot that I had from the original break?

Hello,

It may be due abscess. For that kindly follow up with surgeon. He may procure detailed clinical examination. You may require antibiotics after consultation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
