What Causes Pain And Discomfort On The Right Side Of The Abdomen And Gastritis?

I am experiencing pain and discomfort around the top right side of my abdomen region. The pain started yesterday and has ranged from 4 to about an 8 on the pain scale. Along with this I am experiencing a lot of gas from both ends. When I belch or pass gas the pain subsides, but the pressure starts building up again and the pain comes back. It is also tender to press in the area. What could be wrong?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to appendicitis. I suggest an abdominal ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis and take proper treatment. I recommend going to the emergency room for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
