Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I am a fit healthy woman. 3 days ago I began to experience pain in my left iliac fossa and abdominal distension. I have no urinary symptoms , but my usually regular bowel movements are less frequent . I had a temperature each night on the first 2 nights , but that has resolved. I am still working , but I feel as if I have a pregnant abdomen just in the last 3 days. I have a good appetite, and weigh 60 kgs, so am not overweight.I am hoping it is a minor problem which will resolve spontaneously. I am keeping up my fluids but wonder if I should abstain from solids till it resolves.
Hi and welcome to HCM. Your symptoms may indicate diverticulosis of sigmoid colon and you should do colonoscopy or CT scan to rule this out. Diverticulitis attack should be treated with antibiotics and easier diet. You should avoid sweets, rafined meat , and fried food. Wish you good health. Regards
