Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For several months I have experienced drainage at night from my ears accompanied by moderate pain n the night and mornings. The drainage seems to be a clear oily fluid without much odor. Nothing like ear wax. Periodically I have been flushing my ears with warm water, which produces a white, cloudy gelatinous substance and opens my hearing. How do I stop this and get back to normal?
I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your ear.
As per your history it is suggestive of chronic ear infection. Because there is a discharge coming out of your ear and accompanied with pain, that means you may have middle ear infection. You need to avoid the water flushing into your ear, for wax you can use anti was ear drops instead of water, not if your ear is discharging fluid.
Visit an ENT specialist and get yourself properly examined, because persistent discharge of pus may lead to permanent damage to your ear drum, and compromised hearing there after.
Hope my answer will help you and you can visit us again in case you want any further assistance.
Regards Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
