What Causes Pain And Heaviness In The Lower Leg?

I have progressing posterior lower leg ache, with a heavy feeling in my leg. My knee hurts if I straighten it too far, and I have decreased knee flexion due to pain, tight feeling. No injury. I m 64, female, average weight, no history of blood clots, or diabetes. I was told I have some lumbar spine arthritis several years ago. No back pain. I did smoke for 20 years, but quit in 1989. Not sure if this is a type of sciatica or a venous claudication issue. I am a retired nurse, I spent a lot of years on my feet.

Thank for posting on HCM!
Causes your pain may be due to :
1. Osteoporosis: bone, numbness, restlessness, aches and pains.
2. Knee osteoarthritis: heard in the match when, morning stiffness up
3. A type of sciatica: pain or back pain, pain from the buttock down the leg along especially when bending.
in my opinion the more likely you have osteoporosis. You should supplement Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Vitamine...
Hope this useful!
Wishing you good health!
