What Causes Pain And Itching In The Clitoris?

I went to out of hours gp last week and they informed me i have a urinary infection and prescribed co amoxiclave...i have finished the course of antibiotics but have recently got a very red and painful clitorus which i can feel pulsating when laying still and it occasionally itches but its to painful to scratch... What could it be. What treatment would you reccomend.

Hi,

It may be due to a fungal infection called 'thrush'. You can go for a vaginal swab to confirm the diagnosis. As of now, you can take Clotrimazole lotion for cleansing your genitals and take antihistamines like Pheniramine for itching.
