What Causes Pain And Knot On Right Side Below The Jawline?

Im having a problem, I noticed some moderate pain on the right side just behind my jawline. You could basically draw a strait line down from my earlobe. When I touch it it is painful and there appears to be a knot about the size of a walnut, im also experiencing swelling, have any ideas?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain a painful lump behind the jawline along with swelling and pain can be either due to swollen lymph nodes secondary to infection in head and neck region that is drained in these lymph nodes..
Other common cause is infection in gum flap that surrounds the wisdom tooth orbdeeply decayed wisdom tooth..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a clinical evaluation and x Ray can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
On case of lymph nodes antibiotics and Anti-inflammatory painkiller will relieve..
In case of wisdom tooth related problems in case of gum flap inflammation, Antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller, warm saline gargles will help..
In case if still no improvement removal of gum flap or extraction of tooth will relieve..
