What Causes Pain And Noise From Joints While Moving Them?

My wife is 78 years old and approximately 50lbs over weight, her joints hurt and make noise when she moves them, she has become listless, with very little strength. The rheumatoid physician does not be leave she has rheumatoid arthritis, he is having more blood tests run at this time.

Hi,

It depends very much on the type of noise. Knuckle cracking noises are of very little consequence. There can be a low rubbing from tendons with irregular scars rubbing against bone and this is not very significant. THEN there is irregular cracking from bone rubbing on bone and loose bone fragments engaging with the rest of the joint and that implies a joint that is quite bad. None of these is like rheumatoid and the joint mice especially would imply wear and tear bone disease rather than inflammatory.
