What Causes Pain And Numbness In Finger After An Injury?

I slammed my finger (below the nail / above the first joint) in the van door several weeks ago. There was a fairly deep wound which has healed and the finger was swollen. I iced it off and on until the swelling was gone. It's still quite painful and the tip of my finger is numb. It still hurts to type. Do I have reason to be concerned?
