What Causes Pain And Numbness In Toes While On Flagyl?
I was given flagyl 3 different times for C-diff. I didn t realize at the time that it was causing some pain and numbness in my toes and now on bottom and top of both feet. My regular doctor was quick to say that it was my Type 2 diabetes. I have been diabetic for 15 years and my sugars have been controlled and my A1C has been in appropriate range. I know from reading that the flagyl caused it-- this took place within a month. Is there some way that this can be reversed if it is from the flagyl or is this something I may have to live with? I am a dancer so it concerns me. Melissa
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain and numbness in toes while on Flagyl . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like arthritis , gout , blocked blood vessels , corn and callus or infection in the joint. I would suggest you to apply ice pack to ankle , take proper rest and ankle and keep your leg elevated while sleeping . Side effects of certain medicine can also cause such symptoms .Consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination. Doctor my order CT scan, MRI along with physical examination to rule out any injury . Doctor may prescribe allopurinol , methotrexate along with anti inflammatory or antibiotics . Doctor may also refer you to cardiologist in case of blood vessel blockage or neurologist for nerve problem like neuropathy.Eating healthy diet will be helpful.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
