What Causes Pain And Numbness On The Foot And Toes After An Injury?
Hi I m Vanessa, I was cut with a piece of tile on the top part of my foot all my body weight was on it...me being on my knees...it was not to big but it seemed to be deep I couldn t stop the bleeding & intense pain to follow as well as a big bump, numbness around the area & three of my toes. I m very concerned because this happened Friday & I m still having pain, limping, & the numbness that won t go away!
It is normal for the pain to last for 1-2 weeks after we have injured our foot.
In your case, because you were hurt with a tile and you bleed, it is important to talk to your doctor and consider tetanus prophylaxis. Otherwise, the wound should heal in another week as long as the redness and swelling are not getting worse.
If the redness or swelling are worsening, this may be a sign of infection and antibiotics may be needed.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
