What Causes Pain And Pressure Around The Breasts?

I was trying to use symptom checker and it sent me here. In the past 3 days, after taking a laxative, my upper body feels very full. My bra hurts (feels like it s squeezing me.....never has before) and even when I take it off, I have discomfort, particularly around the bottom of my ribs on the left side but also in my entire upper body; chest, ribs, etc.. I am healthy and normally do not have ailments. This discomfort I am feeling is making me unable to get a good night s rest. It came on suddenly. I have not gained weight; I ve actually lost a few pounds. I am a little more tired than usual but I think the discomfort is making me feel that way.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Laxatives drugs are used to treat constipation and therefore, have no correlation with breast pain and discomfort.

This type of discomfort can occur in pre-menopausal duration or after starting menopause. Other causes are fibrocystic disease or benign lesions.

The malignant lesion usually does not cause pain until it involves the skin. So, consult a gynecologist and get the proper diagnosis.

Until then, you can take simple analgesics like ibuprofen.
