What Causes Pain And Pressure In The Eye After A Head Injury?

I have post concussion syndrome after hitting my head against the driver s window in a MVA. The accident occured almost three years ago and I still have pain and pressure in/behind my left eye. I struck my head on the lower left side behind my ear. My CT and MRI came back clear. I wear prism glasses for my visual problems which help with dephth perception and centering but the pain is still there. Will it ever go away? What could be causing it? note: the pain is worse when I get headaches.

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hi,

It could be because of nerve impingement somewhere. It could be likely. You should get a neuro-ophthalmology consult preferably to rule this out.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshita, Ophthalmologist
