What Causes Pain And Restricted Movements In Neck?

Hi: I have a stiff neck for the last 4 days. Movement side to sde and up/down movements very restricted. Tightness in the throat and the left side (external) hurts when swallowing (not sore throat symptoms). Age 62, history of cardiovascular disease, one 5 way CABG and MI 11 years ago. USe Bi-pap at night and noticed breathing out while lying on my back was causing snoring even with the Bi-pap on. The source of the pain is confusing, first day -tendon behind left side of skull. Yesterday noted slight soft swelling in left scapular well. Took ibuprofen, cold compress/hot compress, applied icy-hot cream. Symptoms still the same. Plan on calling my PCP today. Any ideas?
