What Causes Pain And Spasms In Chest In A Teenager?

Hi my 17 yr old daughter is experiencing chest pain/spasms? Yesterday, approx. 1 hour after dinner and now today about 30 minutes after dinner. For foods were pretty mild, so I ruling out gastro. I m thinking that she may be having some sort of anxiety or panic attack? Back to school is Monday. Do I need to bring her to her pediatrician or wait and see ?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
ThNks for your question on HCM. In teenage group anxiety is very common and cause chest pain and chest tightness. In my opinion you can wait for 1-2 days. Just keep her away from stress and keep her calm. If she improves than it must be anxiety associated. And if she is not improving than I suggest you to consult pulmonologist. Sometimes bronchitis can also cause tightness in chest pain and spasm. So consult pulmonologist and discuss these things.
