What Causes Pain And Stiffness In Lower Back?

Hello, I am having severe lower back pain especially left side down the hip from the past 15 days, there is stiffness and problem in sitting and standing. Had consulted ortho doc and he had prescribed medicine for 5 days which gave me relief but now again the problem has started. Pls let me know the real cause..is it spine or kidney or some other. Thanks
