What Causes Pain And Stiffness In The Middle Finger?

Dear Sir, ....for the last one year, one of my fingers(middle finger) in my left hand gets struck, when I fold my palm. I cannot open it with ease. At times i have to use my other hand to open it and get to normal. I feel a little pain also in that finger.....Is is a symptom of any other disease to come ahed. ....or ...???? Can you please give me your valuable advice.
