What Causes Pain And Swelling In Cheek?

Hello. Recently I ve had pain in my left cheek. The first few days the pain was on my cheek and it was swollen. Today the pain and inflation has moved to just above my left muller teeth. After inspecting with a flashlight I noticed that it kind of looks like the skin is discolored as if it teared or something and I see something yellow forming/coming out. I m not sure what this could be please help it hurts a lot

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history of pain and swelling of cheek, my treatment advice is -
1. You are probably having a cutaneous bacterial infection.
2. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
3. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
4. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain and swelling.
5. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
