Hi..
Can understand your concern..
As per your complain pain and swelling at the injection site can be due to
allergic reaction to any of the component of the anaesthetic solution leading to inflammation at the site of injection..
It can also occur due to direct penetration of the injection needle into the muscle fibres leading to injury to the muscles and causing muscle spasms which causes pain and difficulty in opening the mouth.
At times if a blood vessel is pricked can lead to
hematoma formation leading to swelling and difficulty in opening the mouth and if a nerve fibre is pricked it can lead to pain..
I would suggest you to consult your
dentist and get treated accordingly..
In case of muscle spasms muscle relaxants and painkillers can be effective .
In case of allergic reaction
allegra or
benadryl along with muscle relaxant, painkillers and mouth opening exercises can provide relief..
You can apply numbing gels over the painful area to get relief during eating and swallowing..
Hope your query is solved..
