What Causes Pain And Swelling In Knee After An Injury?

i fell from a brick wall onto concrete, a 4 foot fall, and landed on my knee. i did not bend it i landed flat on it. My knee is swollen, bruised, and tight. there is a shooting pain down my leg from my knee and it hurts to put any pressure on it. what could i have done?
