What Causes Pain And Swelling In Leg After An Injury?

HI, i got short on my lower third of my thigh in 2007. An xray showed no inury to my femur.All was that was done is wound dressing and then it healed. I have been okey since then but lately i am experiencing pain at the lower third of my leg.The venous return is poor n the cuff is often swollen especially if i run.what could be the problem?
