What Causes Pain And Swelling In Leg And Dizziness?

My cousin was mowing yards today & she started to feel burning pain in her legs. When she took off her jeans she had redness, swelling & pain. The redness & pain has now spread to her back & down her legs to her ankles. She went to a minor emergency clinic. They told her they weren t sure but thought she had some type of dermatitis. She did not have any bites or any blisters like poison oak or ivy. Now she is in pain & has a headache, feeling dizzy & drained & sweaty. I am trying to get her to go to the hospital in Shreveport now.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

She has suffered a hypersensitivity or allergic reaction to plant or any insect bite. Antihistamines and Steroids should be immediately prescribed to reduce the reaction. Look for any breathing difficulty, dizziness, throat pain or difficulty in swallowing. These are signs of anaphylactic shock which is a severe form of allergy and requires immediate injection of adrenaline.

Hope that was helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
