Hello dear
I understand your concern
Your symptoms could be due to the osteoarthritis.
In osteoarthritis, breakdown of cartilage and underlying bone occur due to degenerative process. It cause joint pain, swelling, stiffness and decreased movement of joint.
You can try conservative medication under the observation of your treating doctor:
Mild exercise, prevent stress on joint,
Medication like diclofenac or naproxen (lot of side effect on long term use).
Injection of steroid and hyaluronic acid: give relief for short term.
Glucosamine tablet and local application of analgesic gel.

If conservative medication will not helpful and pain interfere with the normal life and activity, then joint replacement surgery is the treatment. (replacement surgery is effective and result are good).
Hope this may help you
