What Causes Pain And Swelling In The Left Ear?

For the last 4/5 days I am feeling pain in my left ear. There is some swelling in/out side ear. Out side,there is some fungal infection also. At times, there is itching sensation. Yesterday I felt some better, but, today I am feeling that pain inside the ear. From day before yesterday, I am taking Itrox (100 mg) od,Fungisep

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of pain and swelling in the left ear which can occur due to accumulation of earwax, ear fluid and due to improper cleanliness. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist once. Doctor may prescribe drug like eperisone , antibiotics along with anti inflammatory medications. Doctor may order certain test like audiometry, low and high pitched ringing to rule out conditions like hearing loss, earwax buildup, and middle ear infection. You should maintain hygiene of ear canal and avoid pricking it with sharp object. Avoid using excessive mobile phone from left side.
