What Causes Pain And Swelling In The Left Foot?

I m having pain on the top, outer part of my left foot, with some localized swelling. I have soaked it, elevated it, and iced it this afternoon, and the pain and swelling are still present. I am able to walk on my heels across the room, but I can t really put all my weight on that left foot to walk on the ball of my foot. I have been hobbling around today, only putting weight on the heel and inside of the foot. I m wondering if I ve sort of sprained it, or if there is the possibility of a fracture. I am 62, in good health, and don t know how I injured this foot.

Hello,
Welcom to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your food.

If you have any recent history of trauma to the food in last 2-3dayd or even around the week. It can be the muscle strain or even a fracture too.
Also of you are on any medication recently like any of floroquinolones e, g. Levofloxicin that can even lead to tendinitis or tendon rupture too.

You need to visit an orthopedic spacialist for further evaluation and xRay of your foot too.

Hope my answer will help you.
Regards
Dr Muzaffar
