What Causes Pain And Swelling In The Legs And Ankles?

I have pain and coldness in my feet and some slight edema in the lower legs/ankles. I experience coldness in my hands as well but no pain. I have untreated high blood pressure and my Mom passed away at the age of 64 with the cause of death apparently from a heart attack. I am somewhat overweight but not obese. At work, I am generally sitting. I would describe my lifestyle as sedentary. My last blood test results (about 4 years ago) were normal with the exception of a vitamin D deficiency. What are the possible causes?

Hi,

Leg swelling related to fluid buildup. Leg swelling caused by the retention of fluid in leg tissues is known as peripheral edema. It can be caused by a problem with the circulatory system, the lymphatic system or the kidneys.

Acute kidney failure. Also just keep on trying to changing your leg positions, raising, massaging. If there is no improvement, kindly go for lab investigations.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
