What Causes Pain And Swelling In The Right Testicle?
Hello, I recently had pain and swelling in my right testicle I went to the ER and they took a urine sample and did an ultrasound and said it was epiditimytis. I was prescribed doxycycline and finished the pills 1 day ago. The swelling has gone almost completely if not completely away, however, when I feel behind the testicle the tube or coil of the epiditymis is hard all the way down to the tail of the epidytimis where the size and hardness are most noticible. Is this normal?
I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your pain and swelling in testicle.
You don't need to worry much, sometimes because of the long duration of antibiotics the focal point becomes like hard swelling (in your case epidydimus), it is called antibioma. It disappears slowly with time.
You need to ware tight underwear and don't keep checking the status of your testis repeadly. As it has been diagnosed as infectious lesion you don't need to worry much. In case you want to be sure of any malignant lesion to rule out, get a Beta hCGtumor marker test done though it seems to be normal infectious condition.
Hope the answer to your query. Write to us in case of further assistance.
