What Causes Pain And Swelling In The Shoulder?

I was at work and lifted a box about 50-60 lb. it stared to fall and I toyed to catch it then I kept doing stock and it happened again with a box about 30-40lb. That night my shoulder started to hurt. The pain has got worse. I also am swollen and my collar bone is higher and hurts. I get really bad pain I m my ler bone & soulder. The pain goes my neck wear you feel you need a neck brace to hold up your neck but don t want one. I have had a X-ray it did not show anything. What could it be?

Hi,

I understand your concern.

What happened is that you overloaded your shoulder. You have not broken any bones, but the problem is related to soft tissue of the shoulder joint and collar.

These are detected only by MRI.

Apply cold compressess. Try not to lift weights.
Ask immediate consultation with orthopedic specialist.

We cannot tell if you need a brace or not until consultation with orthopedic specialist and MRI results.

Take oral anti-inflammatory meds. Apply ice. Take glucosamine and hialurinic acid.

Wish fast recovery.
