What Causes Pain And Swelling In The Tonsils Along With White Spots?
Dear Doctor,
Ive had a problem with my tonsils since childhood. I was earlier treated with Amoxycillin or Roscillin. However now, I'm 43 years old, and I get a pain and swelling on my tonsils every 3 months and have white spots as well. Each time I go to the doctor, I'm being prescribed Phenoxymethylpenicillin Potassium tablets 250 mg, 2 tablets to be taken 4 times a day and its a total of 80 tablets. I'm afraid I'm being incorrectly treated or something is missing somewhere. Please advise as I do not want to take so many antibiotics.

I would like to tell you that if tonsillitis is happening recurrently every year with almost 4 or more than 4 episodes per year then it's advisable to get Tonsilectomy done instead taking so many antibiotics as that can also have harmful effects on your body.
