My toungue is swollen so badly, that it is rubbing against what ever teth I have left, it is numb. also in pain, I cannot barely move it, I can only eat very soft food (BARELY) sometimes not at all, and I am saliving alot. I have had two strokes in the past 2 and A half years, A deteriated disk, qstrioporosis, 5 fractured ribs and one broken plus several other issues which will take too long to say. what could be causing this?! I can barely speak!
This might be due to lingual edema, a complication in stroke patients. It's essential for stroke patients and their caregivers to co operate with speech therapists and rehabilitation specialists, to manage swallowing difficulties and prevent complications like lingual edema. The earliest intervention and appropriate care are absolutely critical for stroke recovery.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
