What Causes Pain And Swelling In Upper Eye Crease While Having Dry Eye Syndrome?

I spent 3 1/2 hours yesterday at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and never got to see the Dr who I had appt with . Got home to find left upper eye crease very painfully swollen. I have extreme dry eye syndrome and my opth has been trying to treat it for almost 2 years after previous opth misdiagnosed it. Waited to see how the swelling was by morning this morning and swelling is still there and painful. I have had alot of string mucus that my dr has tried to treat as well..yesterday was worse then usual. Do I go to the ER with this? I do not even know if the local hospital here even has an opth on staff or for that matter on call.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if the condition is sever then it is must to see the ER and there you will be given primary treatment with clinical advise, such eye condition could be due to allergic condition and it may be associated with infection hope this information helps.
