What Causes Pain And Swelling On The Lower Leg?

I have pain in my lower right leg with swelling. I am 54 years old and have recently been diagnosed with a broken toe two weeks ago. the swelling is recent and is confined to the area from the knee down. There is a temperature difference between my right leg and the left one. my right leg is cooler than the left. it hurts more when I stand up or hang my leg down.

Hi,

Your symptoms can be related to inflammation due to the broken toe. I suggest you use anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen three times a day. I also suggest cool compresses for local relief.
