General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Yeast infection being aggravated by friction during sexual act caused inflammation & soreness. This caused pain in urination & sex, pain in vulva & urethra
The little cramps suggest spread of infection in uterus too. The treatment of yeast consists of self-care in the form of improved genital hygiene +application of antifungal ointment & use of vaginal pessary that your treating gynecologist had prescribed.
Oral medication in form fluconazole pills are to be taken as per advice by gynecologist.
The pills & local treatment is to be given to your spouse also. So that the infection control is perfect.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
