What Causes Pain And Tingling Sensation In The Wrist?

my wrist hurts me. sometimes it is like pins and needles, other times a less intense pain. Sometimes there seems to be some finger numbness. While I think I have strength, the pain seems to cause some inability to grip well. If I hit it on something it really hurts.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I was interested to know in what fingers do you feel numbness? Is it the big finger, the pointing finger, the middle finger, and half of the ring finger? Do you feel edema like in the hands? Do you have paresthesia? It usually begins at night after some hours of sleep. If these correlate to your state it may be carpal tunnel syndrome. It is more frequent between 40 and 60 years and happens 5 times more in women. Do you feel like things drop from your hands. I suggest you to visit an orthopedic.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Emilda Belortaja
