What Causes Pain Around A Cyst In The Right Breast?

Hi, Ive been recently diagnosed with a cyst in my right breast. Ive had 2 mammograms and ultrasound to confirm. I occasionally have sharp pains coming from the area of the cyst. Is this normal and when will it go away? This has been ongoing for a year.

Hello,

Breast cysts are usually benign most of the cases no active treatment required.

They may cause pain and swelling. Too small cysts may not cause any symptoms. But large cysts may cause pressure surrounding tissue lead to pain.

If you have a doubt please consult your surgeon he will drain the cyst with ultrasound guidance.

If the fluid is clear no need to worry, if the fluid is bloody then he may send it for analysis.

Please consult your surgeon he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
