What Causes Pain Around Groin And Hip Area And Swelling In Ankle?

I have been having severe pain in my right leg when I stand, in my groin area and my ankle has been swelling, making it hard to walk or stand for a long period of time. This has been going on for over a week now, and it happens most frequently when I m sitting or laying for long periods of time. However, it does not happen first thing in the morning. I m a 41 yr old female. I m 5 7 and weigh about 230. I m not sure what it is, my local doctor said to change my shoes, but I m concerned about the pain in my groin/hip area and my swelling in my ankle. Any help is very appreciated.

please get your groin swelling examined thoroughly by a surgeon to rule out hernia that could be compressing the nerves supplying leg and ankle
