What Causes Pain Around The Incision Site On Buttocks?
pls i am above 50. i was doing daily walk/jog for 30 mins daily. i was doing this and enjoying it 4 about 2 months. suddenly i realize my right hip was paining me right inside my leg. i find it difficult to stand long. you even find me limping after a period of long sitting, esp after driving. I met an orthopedic doctor. my backbone and pelvic bones were x rayed. i was told it was normal. what i am experiencing has to do with my age. i was advised to stop jogging, and embrace cycling and walking as alternative exercises. on my own part, i totally disagree with the DR. telling him that i had an injection on my right bottocks about 5 years ago. this injection site is still paining me. it appears to me that the pains i was experiencing was coming frm that injection site. moreso if i press hard the site the pain becomes more obvious The DR still refused to reason with me. i was given drugs which i consumed over a 4 week period. immediately i finished the drugs the pain came back. i went back to the DR, another set of drugs was given to me for a period of another 2 weeks Now i had finished that drugs and i am really reluctant going back to that DR. in the mean time i am treating the site with ice morning and night kindly advise
The symptoms sound to be of concern with possible inflammation or infection turning into abscess formation at previous injection site. In my clinic, I do recommend a soft tissueultrasound examination of the gluteal region followed by an MRI of the region depending upon the ultrasound results.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
