What Causes Pain Around The Kidney Area?

My 9 year old daughter has been having pain of varying intensity on and off around here kidney area (both sides) for about a year. We have taken her to the Dr twice and they only did a urine analysis each time that came back clean. Any other ideas? It seems to be hurting pretty bad for a couple of days now.
