What Causes Pain Around The Pelvic Area After Insertion Of Stents?

I had stents placed in the pelvis in both left and right side on the 15th of September. I still hurt in the area almost like a burning ache. Is this normal? What is the recovering time I know I can t lift anything over 10lbs. I go for after surgery check on October 24th. FYI I m 62-year old female and always had trouble with various veins. Thank you_

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I think the stents must have been put in the common Iliac arteries as you are talking about stents in pelvis.
This is usually a painless thing and stents do not cause any discomfort or pain.
Hence the cause should be found out by further proper clinical evaluation, examination and investigations like Ultrasonography and/or CT scan of the pelvic region including that of the spine.
Burning ache is suggestive of nerve pain and hence you may need an appropriate medications for pain the dosages of which may need modulation.

Hope I have answered your query.
