What Causes Pain At The Base Of Skull With Coughing And Sneezing?
Hi, I have have had head pain, at the base of my scull mostly, for the past two months. Coughing, sneezing, laughing, and bending over seems to bring it on. I was wondering what is causing it. Tylenol relieves it somewhat, but not all together. Could it be from sitting for long hours?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Pain in base of skull which increases while coughing, sneezing, laughing and bending is suggestive of muscular pain. A clinical assessment by a physician is required. Spasm of muscles of neck can lead to these symptoms. If the pain is found to be muscular on clinical assessment, a muscle relaxant and pain killer will be helpful. A wrong posture can lead to stress and strain of neck muscles. Correct posture and physiotherapy will also help to relieve the symptoms.
